I did do a lot of drafting on Lyon but my Cad drafting was elementary at that time (it's not much better today I am afraid) and I like to stay away from it as much as possible. I put some photos of my Warrior 1781 in the "Completed Builds" forum (see home page). I got as far as doing the deck structure for the lower deck but abandoned it, in favour of doing La Belle Poule 1750, a French frigate. Keith.

I was looking through some plans the other day and came across the Lyon, which I use for research and saw some of the info that you put on them and thank you for the help on those plans. Forgive me for not getting back sooner. I do remember when you was working on the Leon I believe, think it was first built by Underhill. Correct me if I am wrong. Gary

Harold Underhill wrote two books "Plank on Frame ship models vol. 1 and 2",Vol. 1 was the hull and vol. 2 was masting and rigging (first published in 1956 or thereabouts). As far as I know he must have been one of the first to write about making ship models as POF's. He did Leon himself at a scale of 1:96. Keith.

The reason for two rudders is because the first one had a knot that fell out while I was finishing it up![]() ![]() ![]() [link= [ Edited Mon Sep 28 2020, 01:11am ]
