I suggested the MSW site, but in the back of my mind, I was wishing I had more experience with them. a few build logs down the road, he asked me if I would be interested. I declined, touting the lack thereof......but he assured me that after seeing my build logs, I had nothing to worry about. we hashed out how this ship was to be picked up...he was going to pick it up personally.....a chance for us to meet. it took about five months to build her......it also was my reintroduction to air brushing.....I gave it up a long time ago {too much of a hassle}. unfortunately, the build logs for this build and the Nordkap, are scattered between two blog sites. I had started out with Blogger, but towards the end of the Nordkap build {and in the middle of this one}, Google had bought Blogger and in installing one of their security measures, caused a huge incompatibility issue, and a few of my {among hundreds of other folks} build logs were deleted. this caused me to change over to word press and the creation of 'Wenzel's Wharf' was born. the site being new to me, the logs are all clumped together. later, I came up with the idea to separate them in their own separate 'dry docks', which made it a lot easier to post links and such. I like them because they not only hold more info than I could post on any site, but it gives you a better look as to who I am. there is a human side to this craft, which I think is equally as important.........Johnny might not be a great painter, but the effort that he put into his build is superb! ......just something I believe in. Anyway, there are some extras I put into her.......I also fleshed out the pilot house, but the windows were so small, you couldn't see them. it took a while after she was completed, to be picked up.....but not in the method I described. our meeting kept getting foiled. the Cux ended up being shipped to him via USP... not my idea.......but he wanted to have her for a model convention in Chicago. I am happy to report that it did make it to Wisconsin with only minor damage. they were able to repair her and show her at the convention. this build was also done in hemp thread. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||
