This makes a model approx. 40" long I am just starting so it may take a few weeks to produce admiralty plans plus all frames. I am going to check the plans using Dean's calculations and fill in areas that are not covered by the original admiralty plans.

Framing on both ships are the same with double bends and filler frames. McKay shows the frames using chocks, my idea is to butt the ends on the double frames and use a scarf for the single frames.

The first one is the Royal George the second is the Ontario. The stern molding on both are almost the same. The Rg is a sleeker vessel longer and lower, both have little dead rise to the floors, Coleman didn't have a figurehead on the Ontario. The R G had 26 guns and the Ontario had 22, framing on both ships were the same size and spacing. ![]() ![]()

I've done this myself on occasion, but I've never seen how someone else does it, and I'm sure it's probably a better way that I do it. It would be quite educational for all of us, I'm sure. Gene

I'm trying for the first time to draw up my own plans.i do not know how to use CAD and I never will. Too expensive and too complicated.i try to keep things simple.so I hope you present a detailed presentation on drawing your plans.

Currently seeking my next project and it would be nice to be able to draw up the plans from scratch myself. And like Gene, would like to see how others approach things. But, I prefer CAD, as its less expensive than reams of paper and the boxes of erasers I'd be sure to go through. ![]()
