I started the gun deck and I found the scale on the details was not correct. By scaling the deck plans I was able to arrive at approximate dimensions for the cannons and other deck items. If you don't already own it, I recommend that you purchase "The Contruction and Fitting of the Sailing Man of War" by Peter Goodwin. I just recently purchased it myself, and I have found it to be worth its weight in gold. It addresses all the little details that you are building for the interior; it amplifies the AOS books in great detail; and it gives you some really great ideas for developing your own building methods as well. I intend to use the details for the Bowsprit Step and the Riding Bitts while framing the gun deck. Mike | ||
