The Pandora was built from March 2, 1778 and launched May 17, 1779. The HMS Pandora is best known as the vessel sent to capture Fletcher Christian and the mutineers of Bligh’s Bounty. The book has an interesting history of the ship and a lot of drawings. The drawings had some inconsistency’s and left out a lot of details but by using “The Construction and Fitting of the English Mon Of War 1650-1850 by Peter Goodwin and the Eagle tutorial by Gene Bodnar I should be able to build the model. ![]() | ||

I've built 3 different models using those books, and in every one of them I've found problems with the scales, along with other issues. Some of the scales are NOT what they say they are. Of course, you can make adjustments to correct any problems you might encounter, but the point is that you should verify every single diagram with other pertinent diagrams in the book. On the other hand, the Anatomy of a Ship books provide an incredible amount of details that you can't find from another other sources. I'll certainly follow your log with great interest, Mike. This book used details from seven different ships and the way the outlines were shaded it is hard to tell where the edges are. I wanted to make sure I could finish the framing before I started a log.
