The hull is made of what they call artist wood which is nothing more than pressed cardboard. Having a little bit of difficulty shaping and putting on the bulwarks but filler will take care of the imperfections. This is a very basic kit with very vague instructions so looking at other pictures and fabricating parts and looks like lots of filler, but hoping it will turn out well in the end and lead to many more projects. I am glad to start on a kit I paid $8 for, to hone my skills.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I wasn't able to get all the imperfections out of the molded hull but hopefully they won't show up to badly. Also got a coat of poly on the decks and put the first coat of primer on the hull.![]() ![]() ![]() [url]

Now to figure out the best way to take the tape off to get a nice clean line. I may just score it with a razor blade before I attempt to peel the tape away. Started sanding and retro fitting superstructure pieces. Pictures to come.

I little sanding and now painting the deck furniture. Not sure if I want to try drawing planking on or not. I should have done it before the deck was installed. I'll contemplate over the week-end.![]()

It's the OCD in me looking for perfection. I will let the paint dry for a couple days and give a final sanding to the deck before I go in with the white.

Very basic model with no detail but, fun nonetheless. It has been a good way to introduce me to working with wood and learned some good sequencing, such as when to drill the holes in the deck and mast.![]()
