I'm looking forward to working on it more after the summer break where I can do more details done in my own time. I'm keeping an eye out for fabrics for the sails, but there's a lot of deck work to do yet. For a first try and 6 weeks work - I'm very happy with the result. /Iain ![]() ![]() ![]() [ Edited Wed May 27 2015, 12:15pm ]

I hope that this build and hobby has become more than a school project for you. I look forward to seeing your future work. You have the talent! G

I apologise for the late reply I am currently on holiday and have had some downtime from the internet. It was a very tight six weeks and the timing has been the driving force of getting it done so fast. I have enjoyed this construction so much and it is far more than just a project to me. I am in fact reading a book on the history of the age of sail on my travels now after being inspired by building the Pandora. As part of the course my model was accompanied with a dissertation and research document on the topic so it has allowed me to delve into a wealth of information. I have decided for my final 3rd year project I will be making a modern sailing yacht. The process will be quite different from the Pandora as most of the hull will be CNC'd. Not entirely sure how I will make it completely yet, but with some planning over the summer I should have a better idea. I want to get the CAD model of this completed by August. In other news for the Pandora I will start modelling more details in a few weeks. I recently bought that 3D printer so if anyone is interested it would be perfect for small, detailed intricate parts. Either way, I look forward to working on Pandora more next semester when I return. Iain ![]() ![]() [ Edited Tue Jun 16 2015, 10:23pm ]
