![]() Registered Member #4481 Joined: Tue Sep 02 2014, 02:43pmPosts: 16 | A year or so again, I got an itch to build something from scratch and with materials on hand (except small bolts and nuts) I did. Out of walnut, brass sheets and rods, I built the canon and limber. I knew nothing about the cannon and did some research managed to get a general idea and built the canon whose pictures I shall try to attach. The one problem that most will find fault with is that it is not strictly to scale! It was not my intention to build to scale but only a visual model to put on the mantle piece. As soon as I finished, my youngest son came to visit and instantly claimed finders rights. I haven't seen it since...except own his library bookcase! So, I built another with some minor improvements.... My oldest son came for a visit.... Same thing... I still don't have a canon. I'll try a ship and see what happens. If the photos cause any interest, I'll be glad to give any information, plans or ideas to anyone who wishes. Happy building!
