You are correct in that there are still a few items left to work out such as the lines and the rudder. The rudder is one of the last things I want to add on due to the fact that it is very delicate and I don't want to risk breaking it. As to the mizzen mast sail, I just now completed it. The picture below is just a trailer for what is to come. P.S. Thanks for ridding the double entry. ![]()

I like the base and pedastle choices along with the finishes. They dont destract from the model, and theyspend it high, which will allow the viewer to see all the fine planking work that you have done. As a side note, I am planning to make a Shutterfly album for each of my builds, so that when friends come over, they can see the step by step process and the thought that goes into making a scale model. All the best, Gary

The last few details were a little time consuming but I was able to complete her. Coiling the lines and making the anchor rope actually give the model realism. Now for the anchor rope, that was a challenge on its own right due to the fact that I do not have a ropewalk. What I did was get three pieces of yarn about a fathom long, weighted one end, tied the other end to a hook on my drill, and slowly powered the drill to turn the line. I was happy the way she was looking until I tried removing the line from the drill and it started to kink up on me and I thought, "Now what?". So what I did was retain the line, weighted and taut, added a little carpenters glue (just enought to have her hold herself), let it dry out, and Presto, my anchor rope. The following pictures will show you how she came out. ![]() ![]() ![]() [ Edited Sat Feb 08 2014, 05:07pm ]
