Now that you've mentioned it, I can't help but see it as a shank as well, but I'll tell you what, it works like a champ for treenail simulation. It's been slow but steady progress the last few days. I've finished the deck, to include the small pieces under and around my stancions, work on my masts, and completion of the hull planking, to include the simulated treenails. I've also appled the first of three coats of polyurethane to the hull. the following photos will show you more than I can probably explain. Any and all comments are welcome. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I’ve already thought of the sails and will use red cotton fabric just as soon as I’m done making all the needed blocks. I’ve already completed the tear-shaped blocks used for the mast stays. I made them from a 1/4” dowel that I had to shape with the sander to get them tear-shaped and cut them down to a 1/8” thickness. That was a lot of fun. Arthur, I am pleased with how the planking came out. It wanted to kick my butt and with a little persuasion I got them to go where I needed them to go. The clamp is the second largest from that group of clamps. The Junk is a decent size at 16” in length and 4 5/8” at the beam. Mike, Thanks for the kudos. It was a bit of a challenge but I accepted it graciously and am happy with the result.
