I was told that I must lose weight if I expected to survive much longer, so I've lost 20 pounds in the past month, down from 240 to 220. I'm eating healthier, relaxing more, and taking things easy. I'm spending a couple of hours a day on the HMS Ontario but nowhere near as much time as I used to (4-5 hours a day). Some days, I don't work on it at all. I'm making slow progress as a result. In the past month, I've just about finished the upper deck, and I'll be posting photos in a few days. Gene

The finished rigged model would measure 6 feet tall, 5.5 feet long, and 2 feet wide -- I don't really have the space for undertake such a task. 2. The party who was originally interested in purchasing the model has changed his mind. 3. I'd like to build a much smaller model -- something I have space for. Thus, only mast stubs will appear in the finished model. There's not much remaining to complete -- quarter galleries, bow area, rudder, lifeboats -- but when these items are finished, this project will be done. It was originally built for a small museum in New York, but they backed out of purchasing it; in fact, they won't even accept it on a loan basis. Furthermore, it is a monster of a model, which makes it almost impossible to sell to the average person. For the last few weeks of working on it, I felt that I was simply spinning wheels. I would have never built a model of this size for myself. Gene

If you were in Newfoundland, there is a chap who has his entire yard decorated around a nautical theme, right down to 3pdr naval cannons on his gateway entrance. I bet you he'd love to have a display piece like that in an enclosure for his deck. He has a huge building where he stores everything in the winter months.
Its a history lesson alone just walking around his property.

Good Luck with the resale. It's a nice huge model. Really Nice. May your next project be just what you want it to be and go with the flow of everything. Later Tim
